Purpose of the Job

As a SHE Construction Safety Specialist, you will ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations for Sasol construction projects. Your role will be to implement governance, assurance, and risk management processes to support Sasol's vision of zero harm and sustainability, aligning with the SACPCMP framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive and achieve health and safety (H&S) objectives consistently.
• Prepare and submit construction safety documentation, including facilitating Construction Work Permits.
• Manage project-specific H&S specifications and baseline risk assessments.
• Evaluate and approve health and safety plans/files for construction projects.
• Oversee statutory appointments, handovers, and binding agreements.
• Conduct incident investigations and ensure timely closure of reports.
• Perform site inspections to identify and mitigate hazards and risks.
• Ensure compliance by contractors and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Facilitate emergency drills and maintain evidence of safety processes.
• Collaborate with team members and contractors to meet project management objectives.
• Lead Integrated Management System (IMS) inspections and resolve deviations.
• Promote a culture of safety, risk prevention, and corporate responsibility.

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

• University Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Management.

Experience:

• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
