Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze humanitarian developments in northern Mozambique, focusing on access and Civil-Military coordination.
  • Develop guidelines for civil-military relations and coordinate their implementation.
  • Assist in disaster response efforts and the preparation of humanitarian appeals, including the HNO and HRP.
  • Maintain strong relationships with government officials, military forces, NGOs, and UN agencies.
  • Serve as the focal point for civil-military coordination and access-related policy issues.
  • Provide support for technical field missions and participate in interagency meetings.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Required: Advanced degree in political science, social science, public administration, or related field.
  • Alternative: A bachelor’s degree with two additional years of relevant experience.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in humanitarian affairs or related fields.
  • Required: Experience in Access/Civil-Military Coordination.
  • Preferred: Experience in the UN system, in humanitarian emergencies, or working in East/Southern Africa.

Languages:

  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Fluency in Portuguese or Kiswahili is desirable.
